Swami Akandananda had collected many old and valuable books which forms the basic core of the Ashrama Library. Later in 1956, a public library and a reading room was started with the help of the Government. This Library is a rural Library and has a good number of books and reference books catering to the needs of the local people. 

The Library is enriched with almost 11000 books, 9 periodicals (8 Bengali & 1 English). The Library issued 4,500 books during the year. This Library has a free reading room and the last year total attendance of free reading room was 11,104. The number of members of the library was 706 (Male –277, Female- 35, children- 394).
